Feedback cancelling modes
Fig. 26: The dierent options in Feedback cancelling
modes.
The Feedback cancelling modes menu allows
you to choose between dierent feedback can-
celling options. Dierent programs will display
dierent default feedback cancelling modes.
For example, the music program features Su-
perGain music as default mode since this mode
is especially designed for listening to music.
Fine-tuning Feature settings
The default feature settings in a CLEAR440 fit-
ting reflect the general perspective and vision
with the CLEAR440 aids: to allow InterEar coor-
dination and synchronisation of relevant hear-
ing aid features to support the perception of
natural sound. During fine tuning, the hearing
care professional can, of course, choose to oer
the client other feature settings than the default
settings proposed by Compass, for instance by
choosing Classic noise reduction modes or oth-
er Locator settings etc.
Also the feature settings can be changed inde-
pendently for each ear by disabling Binaural ad-
just. We do not recommend to choose dierent
feature settings in a binaural fitting since this
might undermine the intentions of the coordi-
nated features in a CLEAR440 fitting.
Choosing two dierent speech and noise modes
like Speech Enhancer and Noise reduction, for
example, will counteract the intentions of the
Inter Ear Speech Enhancer working to preserve
the client’s ability to focus on a dominant speak-
er.
The feedback cancelling modes have In-
terEar functionality allowing for a more
precise decision on feedback occurrence.
SuperGain allows as much gain possible
without feedback.
SuperGain max will allow extra gain, in-
troducing a higher risk of feedback.
SuperGain music is designed specifically
for listening to music in a stable environ-
ment.
Binaural adjust can be disabled for monau-
ral adjustment of left and right hearing aid
individually.
Disabling Binaural adjust may aect the in-
tentions of the InterEar functionality in the
fitting.
